Storia, Radlett: Hand‑crafted Italian with Warm Hospitality

I recently wandered into Storia on Watling Street in Radlett, and wow, what a find. Set in a charming Georgian storefront with both indoor and sun‑drenched garden seating, it’s that perfect mix of casual charm and elevated Italian fare. It instantly felt like a friendly local trattoria you’re happy to make your own.

Let’s talk food

This place takes “homemade” seriously—fresh pasta, house‑made sauces, risotto, arancini—everything just feels lovingly prepared. Flavours are big yet balanced: think earthy truffle arancini, tangy burrata with jalapeño kick, and pasta that sings with each bite.

We’ve heard a a lot of good reviews about their dishes like seafood saffron risotto and porcini ravioli—bold, flavourful dishes that deliver authenticity without fuss . It’s the kind of food you want to dive into with friends, sharing plates and stories.

Some dishes you need to try:

  • Truffle Arancini
  • Burrata
  • Sicilian Meatballs
  • Harissa Chicken
  • Butterflied Seabass

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

Sometimes it’s not about pasta and pizza when you’re having an Italian. At Storia we got to appreciate much more with their seafood, fish and chicken dishes which was great to try. The owner also wished our a family a happy anniversary with complimentary mocktails.

And don’t skip the garden seating on a sunny day, it makes the whole experience even more special .

The Menu

Venue and Vibes

Storia’s interior is stylish yet warm: velvet banquettes, exposed brick walls with playful artwork, and laid-back tables that draw you in. The garden area is charming, perfect for relaxed meals in the sunshine.

The staff struck me as the epitome of Radlett hospitality, welcoming, attentive, and proud without ever being overbearing.

If you’re after genuine Italian—fresh, flavourful, and made with care, Storia is the kind of place you’ll come back to. It’s honest comfort food wrapped up in a welcoming local vibe. I left already planning my next excuse to indulge in that risotto (and maybe try the wine list)!
