Zhangliang Malatang: A Hotpot Adventure in a Bowl
Zhangliang Malatang, (a difficult name to pronounce) is located in the vibrant heart of Chinatown London, and it’s a haven for hotpot enthusiasts. Specialising in customisable, hearty bowls of soup filled with fresh ingredients, bringing the authentic flavours of Chinese street food to the UK.
Let’s talk food
The concept is simple: pick your ingredients, weigh them, and let the chefs cook them in a steaming hotpot broth of your choice. The results are rich, comforting bowls that pack a punch of flavour.
Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:
The ramen hotpot was really nice and cooked really well. We tried chicken feet for the first time which had good flavour but can’t get past the look of an actual chicken foot.

Venue and Vibes
With a casual and vibrant atmosphere, Zhangliang Malatang feels like a slice of China in London. It’s great for a quick meal or a relaxed dinner with friends, and the portions are big which could be enough as a sharer.
If you are a vegetarian – avoid!! They mix a lot of their ingredients and people are not very mindful when picking out their meat and veg. It was definitely an experience!
