The Seven Harrow: Where Tradition Meets Modern Indian Cuisine

Nestled in the heart of Harrow, The Seven Harrow seamlessly blends 400 years of history with contemporary Indian dining. They offer a diverse menu that marries traditional Indian flavours with modern culinary techniques. From classic curries to innovative fusion dishes, there’s something to tantalise every palate.

Let’s talk food

The menu caters to a wide range of preferences, from vegetarians to meat lovers. We had the tikka lamb chops, samosa chaat, lamb biriyani and garlic chilli mushrooms.

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

The food, I would say is average. Nothing to shout about but if you’re coming to The Seven for a curry and a few beers, this works well and the venue plays a lot of sport including boxing so definitely a place to visit, especially in their summer garden.

The atmosphere at The Seven Harrow is warm and inviting, blending historic charm with modern elegance. They had renovated the back garden where they have a huge space for outdoor events and have external rooms for private hire and shisha lounges. Whether you’re there to watch a major sporting event, celebrate a special occasion, or simply enjoy a cocktail in the lounge, The Seven Harrow provides the great local alternative.

Overall, The Seven Harrow is a good destination for those looking to enjoy an evening or an occassion with friends and family. We’d recommend this place for any party event or watching sports, however for us it isn’t a standout contender for their food.

Swiss Butter: A Creamy Indulgence for Food Lovers

Swiss Butter is a unique dining concept that revolves around a single, star ingredient: flavoured butter. With an enticing menu of protein options served with their signature butter sauce, this restaurant is all about simplicity, indulgence, and flavour.

The concept was created by Swiss chef and restaurateur, Silvio Neri and the name “Swiss Butter” reflects both the culinary tradition of Switzerland and the idea of offering rich, luxurious flavours. The restaurant has attracted attention gaining over 290K IG followers.

Let’s talk food

We visited Swiss Butter for lunch and were impressed by the simplicity and focus of their menu. We’ve tried the beef and salmon in their signature butter sauce (we have no idea what’s in it but it’s damn good!) Each dish was carefully prepared, accompanied with fries/baked potato and sliced bread.

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

As mentioned the sauce is a dream so in beef or salmon, just makes everything taste better. Even the salad is tasty with their own dressing. Simplicity at it’s finest but effective.

Nino & Josh

Venue and Vibes

Swiss Butter’s decor is minimalist and modern, with warm lighting and a cosy atmosphere. The queue goes outside of the restaurant and the menu contains around 3-4 different items, however that’s what I think makes it so popular; You know what they do and they do it well! Humo, Watford: A Smoky Feast with a Unique Flair

Humo in Watford is a meat lover’s paradise, offering an immersive dining experience centred around smoky, flame-grilled dishes. Their menu combines modern grilling techniques with bold, global flavours that make each dish unforgettable. Whether you’re visiting for a casual dinner or a celebratory feast, Humo promises a memorable dining experience.

Let’s talk food

We visited Humo for dinner and were blown away by the flavourful dishes and the lively atmosphere. We ordered the Beef Bone Marrow with a Japanese glaze,
katsuobushi and bread, Duck Breast with Truffle Mash, Chicken Gyozas and Chicken Brasa.

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

The highlights from Humo are their meats on the grill especially the Chicken Brasa in a fiery Jerk sauce. The chicken was so flavourful and juicy, we didn’t want it to end. The asian fusion feels a bit out of place for this firehouse styled restaurant.

Nino & Josh

The Menu

Venue and Vibes

This place had the vibes, especially when we came on a Friday evening. They hosted a DJ playing old school garage and r&b classics from the 90s and 00s. Humo’s decor is modern and chic, with warm, earthy tones that mirror the smoky theme of their food. The open kitchen adds an exciting energy to the space, as you can watch the chefs in action at the grill. The staff were friendly and overall a very cool atmosphere..

Dirty Martini: Cocktails, Glamour, and Afternoon Tea

Dirty Martini isn’t just about chic cocktails and a lively atmosphere—it’s also a delightful venue for Bottomless Brunch. This stylish chain, with locations across the UK, offers a unique twist on the classic British tradition by combining indulgent sweet and savoury treats with their signature cocktails.

The Brunch Experience

We had the pleasure of indulging in Dirty Martini’s bottomless brunch which was around £30-37, contained within a birdcage and had a great selection from various proteins such as chicken, pulled pork and beef sliders, including nachos and skewers which are ideal to eat with a fruity cocktail:

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

Our favourite item from the menu were the Potato Croquettes served with truffle and mayonnaise. The rest of the experience having bottomless cocktails for 90 minutes was a bit of a blur, but we remember having a really good time!

Nino & Josh

The Menu

Venue and Vibes

As always, Dirty Martini delivered on atmosphere. With its stylish decor, ambient lighting, and plush seating, it provides an indulgent setting for brunches. It felt intimate yet lively, perfect for catching up with friends or celebrating a special occasion, however can get chaotic if booked during busy hours.

A fun idea and great value for it’s money. While the cocktails and desserts were exceptional, the savoury options could use a bit more variety to elevate the balance of the menu. Perhaps a few more vegetarian-friendly choices could also appeal to a wider audience.
