Taco Collective: A Fusion of Flavours + Good Memories

Taco Collective, founded in January 2020 by twins Rahil and Nik along with their friend Chris, brings a passion for Mexican cuisine to BOXPARK and Shoreditch. Their mission is to deliver authentic and innovative tacos that tantalise the taste buds. We visited the location close to shoreditch station (a few minute’s walk away)

Specialising in a variety of tacos, Taco Collective combines traditional Mexican flavours with contemporary twists. Their menu features a range of fillings, from succulent meats to vegetarian options, all served on freshly made tacos. Accompaniments like homemade salsas and sides complete the dining experience.

Let’s talk food

The tacos at Taco Collective serve a great blend of flavour and texture. Each taco is well balanced between the protein and toppings, but it’s worth paying the extra £2 for their Consome which they call ‘The Mexican Hangover Cure’; a pot of rich beef broth for dunkin’ and sippin’

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

We really enjoyed the Chicken Tinga, especially after pouring the beef broth to bring all those flavours to life. Also enjoyed eating there at the Shoreditch branch, as their L.A. style pop up brings a cool atmosphere.

Venue and Vibes

Situated within Shoreditch and BOXPARK, Taco Collective benefits from a lively and communal atmosphere. The casual setting is perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. The staff are friendly and passionate about their travels, discoveries and overall experience. The branch we visited had around 4 seats available, so would suggest taking it out to eat.

Taco Collective brings a fresh and exciting take on Mexican street food to BOXPARK & Shoredirch, making it a must-visit for taco enthusiasts and newcomers alike. We would suggest visiting, as their prices are reasonable and their portions are great. Who doesn’t like tacos?! We are still on the hunt for the best tacos in London, but would say that this is still a place to visit when passing by.

Alcotraz Cocktail Bar: London’s Immersive Prison-Themed Bar

Ever wondered what it’s like to be an inmate in a prison while sipping on a bespoke cocktail? Alcotraz Cocktail Bar offers an immersive experience like no other. This interactive bar in Shoreditch (with locations in other areas too) plunges you into a fully themed, theatrical setting where you play the role of a smuggler, sneaking in spirits for the prison “inmates.” It’s not just a bar—it’s a night of immersive experience and entertainment.

What’s the Experience Like?

Step into Alcotraz and expect:

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

A great experience and the immersive actors transported us to Alcotraz! You bring your spirits and they make cocktails out of them which is a really cool idea. The best advice would be to get into the spirit of it and be part of the fun.

Pizza Union: London’s Temple of Superfast Roman-Style Pizza

Pizza Union has swiftly become a favourite among Londoners seeking authentic, quick, and affordable Roman-style pizzas. With multiple locations across the city, including Aldgate, Dalston, Holborn, Hoxton, King’s Cross, and Spitalfields, this Italian pizza bar offers a vibrant dining experience without breaking the bank.

Beyond pizzas, the menu features fresh salads, savoury sides, and a selection of drinks, including wine, prosecco, and beer.

Let’s talk food

The quality of the pizzas at Pizza Union is impressive, especially considering the speed and price point. Each pizza boasts a nice crispy crust, cooked through their traditional fire-baking oven. The toppings are generous and well-balanced, catering to both classic tastes and those seeking something a bit different.

Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:

The food and value for money is incredible but we had a negative experience with one of the staff members who was quite short answered when asking questions and felt a bit rushed to be there.

Nino & Josh

They deliver on its promise of providing delicious, authentic Roman-style pizzas at lightning speed. The consistency in quality across their menu items makes it a reliable choice for pizza lovers with so many options and prices starting from just £4.95, you really can’t go wrong.

The Menu

Venue and Vibes

The venue was lively and whenever we walk past one, it’s always busy. The modern interiors and communal seating caters to both solo diners and groups and their open kitchen design allows you to watch your pizzas being prepared and fired, adding to the overall dining experience.  It can often be hard to get a seat, especially during peak times. Be quick!

Whether you’re in a rush or looking to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends, it offers a satisfying pizza experience that doesn’t compromise on taste. Unfortunately, we had an awful experience with the service. The person taking our order, clearly didn’t want to be there and was very rude. We would say that, that became our only let down.

Nanny Bill’s is a London-born eatery that has taken the burger scene by storm since its birth in 2015. Let’s talk food

The attention to detail in their burger patties and the creativity in their croquette offerings make it a standout destination for food lovers. I would highly recommend a visit at one of their London branches and we even got Nanny Bill’s granddaughter to show us around and made us their signature patties and croquettes.

Also the Mac & Cheese Croquettes is a must try as well!
