Mezcalito Chelsea: A Fiesta of Flavours in the Heart of London
Located in the vibrant district of Chelsea, Mezcalito is a Mexican restaurant and cocktail bar that brings the spirit of Mexico to London. With an impressive collection of over 600 tequilas and mezcals, it offers an authentic and lively dining experience for both locals and visitors since its opening in 2018.
The menu features tapas-style Mexican dishes, from tacos and tostadas to sushi (I know it sounds like an odd fusion). The bar’s extensive selection of agave spirits is one of the largest in Europe, ensuring a perfect pairing for every dish. They also host regular events, such as Taco Tuesdays and Mariachi Wednesdays which add to the festive atmosphere, making every visit a celebration.
Let’s talk food
The culinary offerings at Mezcalito combine authenticity with fun fusion. Dishes like the baja fish tacos and the choriqueso melted cheese with chorizo served with fresh corn tortillas showcase the rich flavours of Mexican cuisine. We also had sushi which doesn’t appear currently on their menu but also gave a point of difference which worked well.
Here are some of the photos we took on our visit:
As much as the sushi was a touch of luxury to accomodate the Chelsea visitors, our favourite dish were the baja fish tacos!
Nino & Josh
This place delivers an authentic Mexican dining experience with a modern twist, combined with the extensive drink selection, makes it a standout destination for those seeking a taste of Mexico in London. We ordered from their new fusion Japanese menu during our visit, which was great so if you are struggling to choose between a Japanese meal or Mexican meal, look no further!

Venue and Vibes
The atmosphere at Mezcalito is lively and inviting. We loved the sombrero light shades and were given the hats to wear throughout the night. They have Live music events and a resident DJ on Saturdays enhance the festive ambiance – we had the mariachi band which made it an authentic and memorable experience. Absolutely loved the venue, and I would highly recommend visiting for both good food and experience.
Overall, this place offers a vibrant and authentic Mexican dining experience in the heart of London. With its extensive menu, lively events, and impressive selection of tequilas and mezcals, it stands out as a must-visit for those looking to immerse themselves in Mexican culture and cuisine. Delicious food, beautiful décor
